A Range of Notice Deposit Savings Accounts

But with our range of flexible Notice Deposit Accounts, your money earns a high rate of interest, while offering you a choice of notice periods so you can still access your money if you need to.
AIB currently has four types of Notice Deposit Savings Accounts, three branch based accounts and one Online account:
Branch Accounts
- Deposit Plus Account - 7 days notice.
- Access Deposit 30 Account - 30 days notice.
- Notice Deposit 90 Account - 90 days notice.
Online Account:
- Online Notice Deposit 7 Account - 7 days notice

Access Deposit 30 Account
The AIB Access Deposit 30 Account offers you the flexibility of a highly attractive rate of interest while still letting you access your funds with just 30 days’ notice.
Product Features:
- Only 30 days notice required for all withdrawals.
- No minimum account opening balance required.
- Maximum Balance of EUR 2,000,000.
- Interest paid twice yearly in April and October.
- A customer may have no more than one Access Deposit 30 Account in his or her sole name or no more than two Access Deposit 30 Accounts jointly with another customer. A customer may not have both a sole Access Deposit 30 Account and a joint Access Deposit 30 Account.
How to open an Access Deposit 30 Account
There are three ways to open an Access Deposit 30 Account:
- Call our dedicated savings team on 1890 724 724 from Monday to Friday 08.00 - 21.00 hours and Saturday 09.00 - 18.00 hours
- To apply online simply select 'Apply for Access Deposit Account' in our 'Next Steps' section and 'Apply Online'.
- Call into your local AIB branch to open an AIB Access Deposit 30
30 Days’ Notice To Withdraw Funds:
You are able to give us notice to withdraw some or all of your savings in two ways:
- Drop into any AIB branch and complete a ‘Notice to Withdraw’ form
- Print off the ‘Notice to Withdraw’ form in our 'Next Steps' section at the top of this page, complete it, and post it to your branch.
Deposit Plus Account
Your money earns a variable rate of interest with a Deposit Plus Account, with only 7 days notice required for withdrawals. The features of a Deposit Plus Account are:
- 7 days notice required for all withdrawals.
- Minimum account opening balance of EUR1,000.
- Variable interest rates, paid annually in April.
Notice Deposit 90 Account
Your savings earn a variable rate of interest with a Notice Deposit 90 account, with 90 days notice required for withdrawals. The features of a Notice Deposit 90 Account are:
- Minimum account opening balance of EUR6,000.
- Variable interest rate paid annually in April.
- You can opt to have interest paid annually or monthly. Where the monthly interest option is availed of, interest can be paid to a nominated AIB account subject to a reduction in the annual equivalent rate payable.
- One instant, notice-free withdrawal of up to EUR2,500 is allowed within a 90-day. period and no early withdrawal charge applies.
- 90 days notice required for all other withdrawals.
Online Notice Deposit 7 Account
The Online Notice Deposit 7 is operated through your AIB Internet Banking profile.
- There is no minimum amount required per account.
- Maximum balance permitted is EUR100,000.
- The Online Notice Deposit 7 offers a highly competitive variable interest rate.
- In order to withdraw funds, 7 days 'Notice to Withdraw' must be served online through your AIB Internet Banking profile.
- You must be a registered user of AIB Internet Banking, and have a suitable AIB payment account, for example a Demand Deposit Account or a Personal Current Account. This account must be in your sole name, or in the case of a joint account, have suitable signing authority ('any one to sign').
- This account is a lump sum savings account - suitable for all lump sum savings amounts
- No standing orders or direct debits are permitted into the account.
- Lodgements may be made at any time from any account on your AIB Internet Banking profile.
- This account is available to personal customers only and eligible customers are permitted to have one Online Notice Deposit 7 in their sole name.
Lodgements and Withdrawals
- Once you have opened the Notice Deposit Account of your choice, you can lodge money as often as you like.
- To make withdrawals you must give a minimum of:
- 7 days' notice for a Deposit Plus account.
- 7 days 'Notice to Withdraw' must be served online, through your AIB Internet Banking profile for an Online Notice Deposit 7 Account.
- 30 days' notice for an Access Deposit 30 Account.
- 90 days' notice for a Notice Deposit 90 Account. One withdrawal on demand of up to EUR2,500 may be made in any 90 day period without the required withdrawal notice being given on the Notice Deposit 90 Account.
- You must give notice to withdraw by completing a withdrawal instruction form (available from any branch of AIB) for branch based Notice Deposit Accounts and notice to withdraw must be served online, through your AIB Internet Banking profile for the Online Notice Deposit 7 Account.
- For branch Notice Deposit Accounts you may nominate any bank account in the withdrawal instruction form to which your money will be credited on the expiry of the notice period or alternatively make a cash withdrawal from your branch.

Tax on Interest earned on Notice Deposit Accounts
- We will deduct Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT) at the prevailing rate from all interest earned, unless you are entitled to exemption from DIRT, and we will pay this directly to the Revenue Commissioners.
- To the extent that DIRT has been deducted there is no further liability to Irish income tax , but you may be subject to PRSI/Health levy.
- The Bank will deduct DIRT from the accounts of non-residents unless a fully completed non-resident declaration form is held by the Bank and a minimum balance of EUR12,500 is maintained at all times in each account maintained by the non-resident. - If you or your spouse are aged 65 or over in the current tax year, or are permanently incapacitated, and you are exempt from income tax, you may apply to have the interest on the account paid without deduction of DIRT.
